Narelle Thomas is a visual and performing artist of Springfield, Massachusetts. She enjoys creating works of : poetry,  writing, and art. She also enjoys capturing moments in photos and community activism. All of the images on this website are photos that she has taken. She has many aspirations and feels that people have unlimited potential as long as they don't limit themselves, let others define their success, discount their imagination or underestimate reality. She incorporates what she recieves from nature and social interactions into her art. She appreciates the various ways that people interpret her work, because she believes that there isn't only one way to view anything in life. There are many pieces that create a whole.  She shares her creations because sharing knowledge and truth helps everyone to be empowered and to grow as people. She hopes that her art will help create ways for people to more effectively communicate with others and themselves.I am a visual and performing artist of Springfield, Massachusetts.

"Images and words come to me and I just receive, deliver and present them with my own style. Doing this, I feel is my form of reciprocity to the planet, creator and ancestors . I don't receive knowledge, images or anything else in life solely for myself; I can grow from and with them but that doesn't mean it's just for me.
There's so much to experience in life, so much to love, and enjoy so I just try to stay open to living, loving and learning. I find my views and interests constantly taking on new forms so I try to live  with this in mind:
"Free your mind and the rest of you will follow"
"Make it work and work it"
I will share what I find along the way
and hope that others will share and build with me as well.

The above video was made during the reception for Mandalas & Metaphors, February 3, 2011, at the Westfield State University Downtown Art Gallery.
The Godmother of the Nuyorican Poetry Movement: Sandra María Esteves was the featured artist with her visual artwork as well as performing her poetry. http://sandraesteves.com/

I was honored in opening her performance that night as a youth ensemble member of Teatro V!da.
